Is Xactware the same as Xactimate? ›

Xactimate helped contractors and insurance adjusters estimate repairs much faster and more accurately than they ever could before. Since then, Xactimate has evolved into a high-powered package complete with a patented plan-sketching program, and Xactware has become much more than just Xactimate.

There are no discount codes for Xactimate, but you can try Xactimate free for 30 days to see for yourself the power and versatility the tool offers (from the Xactware website, navigate to Products > Xactimate > Xactimate desktop > Order Xactimate desktop to find the demo).

Xactimate has finally issued a warning to users about its inaccurate pricing. A recent update to the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) for Xactimate software, Section 12.3 now provides: We do not warrant the accuracy of pricing information in the Price Data.

How do I import a drawing into Xactimate? ›

Xactimate offers two options from which to select in the Estimate Parameters window. Each of which applies a different labor productivity rate and therefore labor cost based on the type of job.

Xactimate is simply an estimating machine that breaks down the 10,000+ labor and materials associated with various types of claims into separate line items. Median market prices are used for each line item to streamline the process.

The Concept of Free and Paid Estimates

It's always a good idea to ask upfront about any estimate fees before moving forward. Keep in mind that even if an estimate is free, it doesn't guarantee that the final cost of the project will remain the same. Additional expenses may arise during construction.

XactAnalysis, a claims-processing application, and Xactimate, a claims-estimating application, are designed to complement each other. After an insurance provider receives a claim, they create an assignment in XactAnalysis and send it to a service provider with an XactNet address.

To do so, open Xactimate and navigate to Tools > XactAnalysis Connection (Note, you cannot access this from a project.). Select Initiate full protocol connection with XactAnalysis.
