Where can I find archived TV shows? ›

We've gathered TV programmes from various sources, but mainly from broadcasters themselves. We've even found and restored TV footage thought lost forever. We are designated as the National Television Archive and most of our TV is recorded 'off-air'.

Free Streaming TV Shows at Internet Archive

Just like with the free movies, the public domain TV shows can be filtered by year, language, and other criteria. Download links are available for TV shows so you can view them offline as well.

To find stories from 1995 or before, you can search for scanned newspaper articles. Go to google.com and type in site:google.com/newspapers, followed by the search terms you'd like to use. For example, site:google.com/newspapers “NASA putting man on Mars”.

The Internet Archive is a vast digital library that offers a wide range of public domain video footage , including historical films, newsreels, documentaries, and more. It's an excellent resource for finding archival footage from different time periods.

Tubi. Dubbed "The Free Netflix," Tubi is one of the best options for streaming quality movies and TV shows online. The completely free, ad-supported service has one of the most extensive title lineups, plus it's compatible with most devices, making it an extremely popular option for cord-cutters.

Like all other moving image materials in the collections of M/B/RS, the TV programs in the archive can be seen in the Library's viewing facilities, without charge, by those doing research of a specific nature, leading toward a publicly available work. All viewing is by advance appointment.
