What to Know
Critics Consensus
The hunter becomes prey in You's London-set fourth season, which shows some wear as this premise begins to outlive its believability -- but Penn Badgley's sardonic performance continues to paper over most lapses in logic.
James Jackson Times (UK) Yes, this is all still knowingly absurd, and a very slickly done guilty pleasure. Mar 18, 2023 Full Review Leila Latif Guardian This hottest of televisual messes is impossible to resist Rated: 5/5 Mar 15, 2023 Full Review CT Jones Rolling Stone While Season Four of You manages to stick its bingeable landing, it’s easy to notice that Badgley seems weary of his role. And while the energy served him well this time, another year with Joe Goldberg might be a step too far. Mar 9, 2023 Full Review Peter Kohnke We Got This Covered Despite the drastic shift in premise and setting, 'You' Season 4 manages to preserve the identity and elements of the show that enamored fans in the first place, even if certain developments and motivations occasionally get a little too far-fetched. Rated: 4/5 Sep 2, 2023 Full Review Mini Anthikad-Chhibber The Hindu Ludicrous does not begin to describe Part 2 of Season 4 of You, which continues to stay on the side of absurd fun by the skin of its teeth Aug 27, 2023 Full Review Alison de Souza The Straits Times (Singapore) Half the fun comes from feeling out the suspects, who in this cross section of London high society includes brazen social media influencers and shallow aristocrats. Nashville I Season 4 offers a fresh new direction at the onset, which injects some new life into the series. The twists and turns are just as exciting as before. Admittedly the big reveal in the 2nd half is not a surprise, especially if you're paying attention. It was almost expected, but the season as a whole is still very intense and satisfying. Rated 4/5 Stars •Rated 4 out of 5 stars05/28/24 Full Review Stacy A This season (4) is not the same quality The dialog is predictable, even plagiarized from previous seasons. The characters are supposed to be shallow, but are very weakly written. Joe’s character is supposed to be smart serial killer, and after all that he has “accomplished” looks like, and sounds like a bumbling cliche, and a poor copycat of DEXTER. Hopefully season 5 doesn’t go into the fondue pot, like season 4. Rated 2.5/5 Stars •Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars04/28/24 Full Review Audience Member I really wanted to love it. But I couldn’t quite get there. It was enjoyable however there were some plot holes that I couldn’t overlook enough to really get into it. Rated 4/5 Stars •Rated 4 out of 5 stars04/19/24 Full Review Eric W This show is actual garbage. Like it makes total sense that this random nobody w/e her name is, breaks into joes house finds a key SECONDS within breaking into his house, gets a random model photo shoot from what's his name => which then leads her to check out the indian restaurant which then of course leads her to a dungeon across the street SO OBVIOUSLY that's where the magic key is to find the MIA 29th victim. I wish the pupils of my eyeballs could touch the back of my skull with how tragically garbage this show has become. Thanks for wasting my time. The percentage is based on the film's reviews aggregated by the website and assessed as positive or negative, and when all aggregated reviews are positive, the film has a 100% rating.
Yes, Netflix announced back in March that “You” season had been renewed for its final season, with production on the show having started in New York. This means Penn Badgley's Joe Goldberg will be sneaking around the streets again, but hopefully, it shouldn't be too long until we hear that familiar voice.
Fresh red tomato. When at least 60% of reviews for a movie or TV show are positive, a red tomato is displayed to indicate its Fresh status. Green splat tomato. When less than 60% of reviews for a movie or TV show are positive, a green splat is displayed to indicate its Rotten status.
The Tomatometer score represents the percentage of professional critic reviews that are positive for a given film or television show. A Tomatometer score is calculated for a movie or TV show after it receives at least five reviews.
So when a movie such as “Black Panther” gets a certified “fresh” 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, we interpret it as a film that is near perfection, while a film such as last year's “The Emoji Movie” that lands around 9 percent, must be a steaming pile of garbage.
As the reviews of a given film accumulate, the Rotten Tomatoes score measures the percentage that are more positive than negative, and assigns an overall fresh or rotten rating to the movie. Scores of over 60 percent are considered fresh, and scores of 59 percent and under are rotten.
