Warrington College of Business - ApexGMAT (2024)

Foreign Language Requirement

If English is not your native language and you lack a bachelor’s degree or higher from an English-speaking country, you must provide an English language proficiency score, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or MELAB. A minimum score is required, and applicants scoring below 30 on the verbal section of the GMAT might need to demonstrate English proficiency through an interview. However, a high language exam score doesn’t guarantee admission.

Acceptable exam scores are as follows:

TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language):
– Internet-based: 80
– Computer-based: 213
– Paper-based: 550

IELTS (International English Language Testing System):
– Minimum score: 6

MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery):
– Minimum score: 77

Exceptions to this requirement include applicants who are citizens of English-speaking countries, have completed at least one academic year as a full-time student in an English-speaking country, hold a prior degree from an accredited U.S. university, or are citizens of countries listed as exempt on UF Admissions Qualifying Countries.

Essay Description

Essay Question 1:
In no more than 5500 characters, describe your envisioned career development path. Explain how your academic background and prior professional experience have prepared you for your career goals. Outline how pursuing the UF MBA will contribute significantly to achieving these objectives. For international applicants or those with international career aspirations, specify the country or region where you plan to seek employment upon program completion.

Essay Question 2 (Full-Time MBA Applicants Only):
Share a success story demonstrating your self-motivation, persistence, and hard work. Reflect on the factors that motivated you in this achievement. This essay should not exceed 5500 characters.

Optional Essay:
If there’s any additional information beyond your academic and professional background that you believe is vital for the admissions committee to assess your application, you have the option to share it here. Use this space wisely to provide context or address any specific aspects you think are crucial for your application evaluation. There is a 5500-character limit for this optional essay.
