LINCOLN, Ill. – A good-sized portion of the Peoria area got what could be considered the high end of the projected snowfall Friday.
The National Weather Service says Peoria got roughly three inches of snow by mid-day, the maximum of what forecasters predicted.
In other parts of the area, Trivoli has so far recorded two inches of snow, while Pekin has received two inches.
To the south of here, where winter weather advisories are issued, the Springfield area recorded as much as five inches of snow.
After some single digit wind chills tonight, the snow could be a distant memory by Sunday, with highs getting back in to the 40’s.
