Milk Bread Recipe
You all know my love for baking bread at home from my array of bread post in my blog. So far i have tried 100% Whole Wheat Bread, White Bread, Multi Grain Bread. And i went a little fancy and made a Homemade Panettone & Focaccia Bread. So far everything turned out so beautiful and they all been my favourite ones.

But my hunger quest for bread making didn't end there, i couldn't stop baking my own bread which led me to bake my very own Sweet Milk Bread. OMG is the only thing i could say to you. Because this bread turned out to be so soft and fluffy. Soft in the sense, it was like cloud. Very spongy.

The honey which we added made this bread sweet and it tasted great as it is sliced fresh from the loaf served warm. But i toasted it with some butter and had the next day and it tasted divine. I strongly suggest you to try this and let me know how it turned out for you.
How to Make Milk Bread
- Take warm milk in a bowl and pour in the honey. Sprinkle over the yeast and let it sit for 5 mins or so till it foam up.
- Now take flour in a large mixing bowl. Add in salt and mix well.
- Now pour in the yeasty milk and mix well to form a dough.
- Add in the soft butter and knead again for 5 to 10 mins so it forms into a smooth dough.
- Butter a large bowl and place the dough in it. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it double in size. It will take around a hour or even more depending on temp of you place.
- Once it is doubled in size. Punch back the air and knead the dough again for a couple of mins and shape into loaf bread shape.
- Butter a loaf pan and place the bread dough inside this and let it rise again for a hour.
- Preheat the oven to 190 degree C / 380 Degree F.
- Once the bread has risen. Brush the top with milk and bake in a preheated oven for 30 to 35 mins.
- Once it is baked. Allow it to cool down for 15 mins in the tin and remove to a cooling rack.
- Let it cool before slicing. Slice this and serve with jam or as it is.

Ingredients
- 3-4 cups All Purpose Flour
- 1.5 tsp Dry Yeast
- ½ cup Honey
- Salt to taste
- 4 tbsp Soft Unsalted Butter
- 1 ¼ cup Luke Warm Milk
Instructions
Take warm milk in a bowl and pour in the honey. Sprinkle over the yeast and let it sit for 5 mins or so till it foam up.

My Milk Honey Bread is on the oven now... Waiting to post it soon... I have tried most of your recipes and never thought of taking a picture of them. Recently I saw your FB post on your viewer's 'tried recipe pictures' and I was motivated to post mine too. Last week I tried White bread and turned out awesome. As a result of that, I was gifted a Severin Bread Maker by my beloved family friend. Today I will post the picture of Honey Bread soon.

Lovely bread n luks sooo tempting.. I have a small doubt please do clarify.. I too use the same koryo 19litre otg oven for my baking.. For baking cakes i use both d top n bottom coils..how about for bread..??

Looks super cool bread.
Help me understanding one thing, u mentioned both coils should be heated right, but mine (MR OTG) when i switch on Toast mode only both coils heat up and not in "Bake" mode.
Then should i bake bread in toast mode then?Reply

@Unknownif u have bake mode, then bake it in that mode.

@Anonymousif u make with wheat then the bread will be little hard and dense. Time depends on the rising of the bread. so leave it till it is doubled in size

Hey Aarthi,
I tried this bread and it came out very fluffy and soft.. However I stored a portion of the dough for later use. Next day i rolled and cut into doughnuts.. Deep fried and dusted with powdered sugar. Awesome it was.. My family wwants me to make more doughnuts like this.. Thanks for the recipeReply

Thank u Aarthi for the receipe. Followed ur instructions . Everything went oo well but when i placed the dough in the pan to rise it did not rise in height . It spread vertically in the pan . I have an lg convection cooking microwave so kept it for 35 minutes at 160 degrees. The inside portion remained uncooked. And after keeping for ten more minutes the portions remained uncooked pl help. Thank u

@Praveena Sowmyaragavanit is because u didn't knead the dough well and your dough is too soft. Add more flour and knead it till it is soft and smooth. then roll it and rise it.

Can you tell how to identify the bread is done.........
I bake in an oven with convection mode......I have tried your best vanilla cake recipe....in that you mentioned to divide the batter between the THREE cake pans and bake for 25 to 30 mins, or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. For me the batter in ONE pan was BAKED within 10 minutes.....
So I dont know the exact time to bake bread. Plz reply

@Anonymousit depends on the thickness of the cake batter and cake pan. Each oven will vary so you have to keep an eye on it, after halfway through the cooking process

can i use 1/2 cup of sugar instead of honey..cos 2tbsp of sugar for my white bread is not sweet at all..why dis happens akka..i duno..i used 2tbsp of sugar from yur white bread recipe..bt i not at all felt d sweet taste in it..why?

Hi arthi! I tried this today and qas successful. But inspite of brushing with milk the top did not get brown. I stop baking aafter 35 min and cooled. Inside it was soft and fluffy but crust was pale and dry.plz help.

@suganyait is because of skipping the egg wash. you can brush it with butter for make it soft

Did your yeast activated. Add yeast to luke warm water along with sugar. if you add it to hot water then it will kill the yeast.

I tried your recipe today, it didn’t come good. First - it didn’t completly bake with the mentioned time, Cooked extra 10 minutes.
Second - the top layer of bread was still half white, didn’t come brown color
Third- the bread was hard, no layers like normal bread , I felt like a hard bun
Please let me know where It went wrong

Hello Aarthi. I did a quick calculation and as per your recipe amounts the flour to milk ratio is about 80%. (360gm flour with 300ml milk). Is that correct please? Thank you
