Matcha Latte Powder Mix | Easy Vegan Recipe (1)

There’s nothing quite like a cup of coffee or tea in the morning for a quick pick-me-up before you start your day. Sometimes, though, I want to mix things up because my taste buds are tired of coffee and herbal tea. Wildly Organic’s three-ingredient instant matcha latte powder mix recipe is the perfect solution for those days!

This homemade matcha latte recipe is naturally gluten-free, vegan, and sugar-free. All you have to do is mix it up with your favorite milk alternative to have a warm matcha latte in a matter of minutes. It doesn’t get much easier in the morning than this!

Three-Ingredient Instant Matcha Latte Mix

When I think about instant foods, I imagine microwave dinners and sugary, processed drink powders. In the real food world, instant food isn’t usually doable. However, real food can be fast and easy!

Technically, this matcha latte powder drink mix does take a few minutes of prep work. But then in mere seconds, you can have a creamy matcha latte. I like drinking this in the morning to give my brain a good start to the day, but it’s also great for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Matcha Powder

The first time I tried matcha powder, I was less than impressed. Yes, it does help fight cancer, control blood sugar, boost brainpower, and supercharge metabolism. But who cares about all these benefits if it’s horribly bitter? Matcha is a potent version of green tea that tastes bitter on its own. But with the right added ingredients, it becomes a sweet, creamy treat, like our very own matcha latte powder drink mix recipe.

Cheaper, less reputable brands of matcha powder not only have an unpleasant taste, but they also don’t contain as many antioxidants. Choose organic matcha that’s a vibrant green, not dull or brownish. The higher the quality of your matcha powder, the better your homemade matcha latte will taste!

Coconut Milk Powder

I usually make my lattes with canned coconut milk because it’s thicker and creamier than the version in a carton, with fewer additives too! However, I’d end up with half a can of coconut milk in the back of the fridge that I didn’t know what to do with. A few weeks later, I would discover the poor thing remains when I went to clean out the fridge.

Wildly Organic Coconut Milk Powder, on the other hand, is shelf-stable (hallelujah!) and just as creamy. By creating a matcha latte powder mix and keeping the ingredients in dry form before adding liquid, the potency and freshness of the antioxidants and healthy fats in the latte mix are preserved.

I’ve used coconut milk powder before, but I was less than impressed. Here’s a secret. Many brands, especially the really inexpensive ones, mix a whole lot of maltodextrin in their coconut milk powder. While a little maltodextrin keeps the powder smoother, too much impacts its flavor.

So not only is Wildly Organic’s Coconut Milk Powder shelf-stable, but it also has a more intense flavor than many other coconut milk powders on the market, including some natural brands. Our milk powder will add a delicious natural coconut flavor to your matcha latte powder drink mix.

Coco Monkey Sweetener

Those powdered coffee drinks I had at grandma’s table contained processed sugar and artificial sweeteners. This homemade matcha latte recipe, however, uses a natural blend of sugar-free sweeteners to complement the bitter matcha and creamy coconut milk. Unlike honey or agave syrup, Wildly Organic Coco Monkey Sweetener is powdered, making it the perfect addition to a powdered matcha latte mix.

Coco Monkey Sweetener is made of organic inulin and has a nice, clean sweetness with no artificial aftertaste. It’s low in calories and great for using in beverage recipes as it dissolves very easily! Even diabetics can use Coco Monkey to sweeten their matcha latte powder drinks or other beverages as it does not trigger insulin spikes.
