Fijian Drua's New signings: Manasa Mataele and Issak Fines-Leleiwasa
The Fijian Drua is gearing up for an exciting new chapter with the arrival of two talented signings: Manasa Mataele and Issak Fines-Leleiwasa. The club's head coach, Glen Jackson, reveals that the former Crusaders and Western Force player, Mataele, is eager to join the squad, expressing his enthusiasm through regular contact with the coaching staff.
Jackson highlights Mataele's exceptional performance in the final game of the Bunnings NPC title win with Canterbury, showcasing his speed and skill. The coach confirms that Mataele will be joining the team at the beginning of December, bringing his speed and agility to the field.
However, the Drua's other new signing, Issak Fines-Leleiwasa, the former Wallaby halfback, will arrive after Christmas due to commitments in Australia. Jackson explains that Fines-Leleiwasa's Australian competition with the Force means he will join the team later in the year.
Despite the delayed arrival, the coach emphasizes the importance of proper recovery and conditioning for all players, ensuring they are in top shape for the upcoming season. The two signings are part of the Drua's strengthened 2026 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific squad, aiming for another competitive season.
