This is a hint guide to all (as far as I was able to find them) the hints you can obtain within the game from the nameless Hint Guy. I never came across some of these hints until I made this guide a few months ago. I hope you enjoy reading this guide, and if you have gotten stuck in the game, or even loaded up an old save file and can’t remember where you are, may it “guide” you to the next course of action. (And if I need to make this post in a different forum or part of this forum, please go easy on me. I just signed up today.) Happy EarthBounding!

It’s just one of those parts of the game we would not know about if it wasn’t for fan dedication like this. I probably would have given up if I had tried taking on something like this. Just more of Itoi’s great dialogue in display, it’s amazing how much text is in this game.

If you’re okay with this, just post the link to the attachment (no need to upload it twice) in the PRC Fact Compilation thread, and we’ll add it to the Earthbound page of the site. You would of course be given credit for collecting and compiling the list.

Wow! You have no idea how blown away I am by this offer! Of course! I’m shocked that given the history of this site, nobody has posted anything like this yet! (I fully expected somebody to chime in and gently let me know that this list could already be found somewhere else.) Thank you all again, and I’m humbled to a part of this amazing fan community.

I haven’t thoroughly looked over this guide yet, but if you want to check to make sure you got all the hints, you could consult EB’s debug menu. The debug menu says there’s 80 hints, and they seem to be organized by order you’d see them in-game, which should make it easier to tell where a particular hint should occur. Also, the 5 hints related to Magnet Hill/Pink Cloud are at the end.
