Key takeaways

  • Bingo Cash is a gaming app available on iOS and Samsung that offers tournaments where you can win real cash prizes.
  • Cash tournaments require an entry fee, but this game also lets you play for free using gems or free bonus cash.
  • The Bingo Cash points system and booster options make this game a little tricky to learn at first, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly.
  • If you win cash prizes, you can withdraw the money via PayPal. But keep in mind there’s a $5 withdrawal minimum, plus a $1 processing fee.

Is Bingo Cash legit?

Yes, Bingo Cash is a legit game app that’s free to download and play. It’s not a scam, but it does prompt you to deposit real money in order to play in tournaments with cash prizes.

There are multiple ways to play Bingo Cash for free, including gem tournaments, or by accruing enough bonus funds that you can use them to pay the entry fee for a real-cash tournament.

At first, Bingo Cash doesn’t seem much different from a typical bingo game. You have a board with five columns of numbered squares with a free space in the middle. Colored balls labeled with a number and a letter come down a shoot on the upper right side and linger for a moment before moving left across the screen.

Your job is to see if you have any numbers on your board that match the ball. If you do, you “daub” them by tapping them with your finger. The balls move pretty quickly, so you have to be fast.

There are three ways to score a bingo:

  1. By daubing all the numbers in a straight line across the board
  2. By daubing all the numbers in a diagonal line across the board
  3. By daubing the numbers in each of the four corners on the board
Tip

I found it easiest to check the color/letter on the ball first and then look in that column for the number. It’s faster than trying to scan your whole board at once searching for a single number.

When you get a bingo, you have to press the Bingo button in order to collect your points. You have one minute and 30 seconds to score as many points as possible, and the player with the highest score wins first place.

My gameplay experience with Bingo Cash

I played Bingo Cash for over two hours and competed in 14 cash tournaments. I spent the first hour practicing getting better at the game using the gems tournaments you can play for free. I also had to get used to the booster system, which felt complicated to use effectively at first.

Want an easier game?

If you want a similar competition setup but with a lower learning curve, then I recommend checking out Solitaire Cash or Bubble Cash. They’re from the same developer (Papaya Gaming), but are easier to pick up.

I generally go for simple games without too many complex actions because I like to play games to relax in my downtime. In the beginning, I thought Bingo Cash might not be for me because it’s fast-paced and involves a lot of multitasking. Trying to keep track of the balls at the top, the numbers on my board, and which strategy I should use to score more points, felt overwhelming.

But after a while, I started to enjoy the suspenseful, competitive element of the game. As my skills improved, having so many different things to watch and keep track of felt like it added to the fun. And the first time I got first place in a cash tournament was quite the rush.

Tips for scoring points

You win points in Bingo Cash for several different actions:

  • Daubing numbers
  • Scoring bingos
  • Scoring multi-bingos (where two or more bingos cross the same square)
  • Achieving a full house (where you’ve daubed all the numbers on the board)

You can also incur penalties, where you lose 100 points every time you daub the wrong number or press the bingo button when you don’t actually have a bingo.

There are several ways you can work to score more points, but the easiest way to do it is by using boosters.

How Bingo Cash boosters work

Bingo Cash boosters are little buttons you get throughout the game that let you score more points depending on how you use them. Once I got the hang of the game, I started to use boosters strategically to try and up my points.

There are four types of Bingo Cash boosters you can get:

  1. Wild Daub: A round blue button with a star icon. This booster lets you daub any number you want.
  2. Pick-A-Ball: This one is a yellow button with a letter A that lets you choose the ball you need from four different options.
  3. Double Score: A purple button with x2 on it. This booster gives you double points for 10 seconds.
  4. Bonus Time: This one is a green button with a stopwatch icon. Pressing this booster adds 10 seconds to the clock.

Tips for using Bingo Cash boosters to win

Boosters are most useful if you can figure out the right time to deploy them. You get one booster every time you fill your “booster bar,” which happens roughly every two turns if you’re playing quickly. But keep in mind that you can only have two boosters on deck at once, so holding onto them prevents you from getting any more.

Here are my tips for using Bingo Cash boosters more effectively:

  • Use the Bonus Time booster immediately. It adds time to the clock no matter when you use it, so you may as well press it right away and free up a booster spot.
  • Try to time using Double Score boosters for right before you get a bingo. If you can’t do that, then deploy them right before you daub a number. Don’t tap in a Double Score without knowing when you’re next going to get a match.
  • Don’t let Pick-A-Ball boosters fill up both booster spots. These boosters are nice to have, but they’re not as valuable as the others, so don’t hold onto two of them at once. Free up at least one spot to get another booster.
  • Wild Daubs are the most useful boosters, so they’re worth holding onto until you know the best place to use them.

How much money can you make?

I technically made money playing Bingo Cash, but after accounting for entry fees and bonus cash, I more or less broke even.

Here’s how much I spent and won:

  • I deposited $5.50 (Bingo Cash has a $5 minimum deposit, and the $0.50 was sales tax required by my state).
  • I won $10 total.
  • I spent $14 in entry fees on Rookie cash tournaments ($1 per tournament).
  • Depositing real money helped me accrue some bonus cash (in-game currency that can be spent on entry fees but can’t be withdrawn). This helped my profit margin a bit.
  • My ending total was $5.80, only $2.40 of which was “real” cash that could potentially be withdrawn.

So even though I technically won $10, I ended with an in-game total only slightly more than when I started. And if we’re only counting “real” cash, then I lost money overall.

While I ultimately didn’t make any money playing Bingo Cash, over a longer timeframe and as my skills continued to improve, I potentially could have accumulated a bit more in winnings. Even then, Bingo Cash wouldn't exactly qualify as a lucrative side hustle. But the entertainment value and the fun of the competition make it a worthwhile game in my opinion.

Cash withdrawal process

If you do win money through Bingo Cash, you can withdraw it via PayPal. The game can also refund money to your original method of payment (such as Venmo or a credit card).

In my case, I couldn’t withdraw my remaining cash because Bingo Cash has a $5 minimum for withdrawals. Plus, initiating a withdrawal would have forfeited all of my remaining bonus cash, so I wouldn’t have been able to use it later to play in tournaments.

Heads up

Bingo Cash charges a $1 processing fee for withdrawals.

What are other users saying?

I had a good experience playing Bingo Cash as far as interacting with the actual game and the app. There are a bunch of promotional pop-ups that come up every time you open the app, which can be irritating, but I didn’t experience any true glitches. Other users seem to have had similarly positive experiences, since Bingo Cash gets good ratings on app stores.

App quality aside, some users have discussed details around earnings and payouts. Reddit user ProduceLonely commented on the time-to-earnings ratio: “It pays. But very little for the amount of time you spend playing and watching ads. I think you can get about $2.00 a day if you play [for] four or five hours.”

That tracks with my experience as well — don’t count on Bingo Cash to pay the bills.

Alternatives to Bingo Cash

If Bingo Cash doesn’t sound like a fit for you, then check out these alternatives.

Bingo Clash

Bingo Clash is one of the most popular bingo games on the App Store, with more than 95,000 ratings and reviews.

Bingo Clash offers similar gameplay and boosters to Bingo Cash, but it doesn’t have the Bonus Time booster. Personally, I prefer the Bingo Cash game, but Bingo Clash is a good option if you want a slightly different platform.

Check out our full Bingo Clash review to see how this game works.

Solitaire Cash

Solitaire Cash is another popular game from Papaya Gaming. This skill-based card game takes classic Klondike Solitaire elements and gives them a competitive twist by offering real money for competing in cash tournaments.

Solitaire Cash is easier to learn and master than Bingo Cash, and it has a more relaxing vibe (if that’s your style).

Read our Solitaire Cash review for more details about this app.

Bubble Cash

Bubble Cash is a skill-based pop shooter game that offers prizes and cash rewards for top players. The game is simple: Pop bubbles to clear your board and earn the most points. You can play for free or compete in cash tournaments for real money.

Bubble Cash is significantly simpler to learn and play than Bingo Cash — it doesn’t have any boosters or complicated rules, so it’s a better option if you want a slower pace and lower learning curve.
