Making popcorn is not the hardest thing on the planet; it is rather one of the easiest recipes to exist. There are many videos of people making popcorn with their own twist on the internet.
In fact, food pairing videos have become popular in recent years. You may find videos on the internet showing people combining two entirely opposed elements to create something out of the ordinary.
While some of these recipes are popular on the internet, others astound us all. We've seen folks try with anything from cotton candy Maggi to masala dosa ice cream to gulab jamun burger.
One such strange cooking video recently drew attention on Twitter. A woman is seen in the video making caramel popcorn at home. Does it sound normal? Trust us when we say that the recipe video is anything but average!

The video posted on Twitter by user @BornAKang shows a lady making caramel popcorn at home. The astonishing thing about the video is that she places an egg in the middle of the pan before adding other ingredients to the caramel popcorn.
As you can see, the video begins with the lady putting an egg in a pan. She then wraps it in two cubes of butter. She next adds caramel candy to the pan, followed by popcorn kernels.
As the video progresses, she swirls everything together while keeping the egg in the centre intact, then covers the lid and waits for the popcorn to pop. When the process is finished, she takes the burnt egg out of the pan and begins munching caramel popcorn.
Everyone was left wondering why the egg was utilised in the first place! "What the hell was the egg for," the user wrote.
At the end of the video, the woman quips how this popcorn is even better than the one in the store but doesn't reveal why she added the egg to the pan.
There was no need to add the egg to the pan
It's not recommended to place an egg in the pan while making popcorn. Popcorn is typically made by heating kernels in oil or air until they pop. The lady might have added the egg to intrigue the audience and have them stick towards the end of the video.
Factually, the egg served no purpose other than confusing the audience and leaving comments, which might just have been the plan from the get-go.
The clip quickly went viral, gaining more than 15 million views on Twitter. People were perplexed by the egg's position in the dish as a whole.
